i'm quite through with lorali

no post by 10:30? what is this, the lunchblog?

so miso turned me on to "gilmore girls" some time ago, mid-way through a night and around the second bottle of wine. i was amazed! A show with the word "girls" in the title and no mention of "wild" and i liked it. (aside from that damn theme song).

well mau and i watched it last night and it was almost-unwatchable. grandpa gilmore has a heartattack and everyone is worried and grandma gilmore breaks down from her entitled-aristocratic-self-centered-personality to admit how much she needs her husband. rory's boyfriend (who is like 23) takes his fund manager's helicopter to the hospital to make sure rory is alright while discussing how he is about to put up $3m of his own money on some internet start up.

fuck that show.

Did anyone catch "The Unit" last night? It was a bit chintzy with the wife haveing dream premonitions and the general lack of death and explosions... but... president palmer is cool wherever he is. even if he is leading a elite unit.

I think I saw a couple Gilmores 4 or 5 years ago when I drank alot more than I do now (ahem).

I don't remember much, but I did really enjoy mama gilmore in Bad Santa.

I watch both episodes of The Unit last night. The dream one was a little "chintzy" but I think they pulled it off without going to far (the ambulance in the tree reveal at the end would have been perfect camp if it had been accompanied by some x-files music).

The second episode was pretty good too.

Bad Girls Club back back in form last night as it featured: a sob story about growing up in a broken home, a sob story about going to prison, a bubble bath, lesbian sex, a fistfight, and an "eviction" from the house. Great television.

We also watched Idol (still perfect this season!) and during the commercials I happened upon America's Funniest Home Videos (which I had no idea was still being made) and I laughed at a baby drinking from a garden hose and a quartet of 3 year olds who couldn't sing! Man oh man. And there was a man dancing while dressed like an alligator who fell off the stage!

Lost returns tonight at 10:00.

I forgot that there was puking on Bad Girls last night too.
An overindulgence of tequila.

All I watched last night was the last 15 minutes of Veronica Mars, which was moderately confusing, since I'd not seen the first 45 minutes, and Dirt, because it is my favorite new show.

Lorelai needs to be punched. I hate Luke so very, very much - how can ANYONE think he is better than Christopher?! Blecch. Hopefully I can catch last night's tonight, but with Lost and FNL, I'm not sure that's going to happen.

I forgot about Veronica Mars. The interesting plot twist is that in the middle of an abortion episode the Christian conservative preacher turned out to be a nice guy and a great Dad. Way to go Hollywood!

Ahem.

Veronica actually learned a lesson about forgiveness from the preacher and decided not to crush the new car of a rival who slept with her boyfriend.

But she still broke up with the boyfriend.

I actually really enjoyed GG last night, but that's probably b/c I hate Christopher (sorry, HT, but if it's any consolation, I don't really like Luke, I just really, really hate Chris). I found VM to be a very good episode, but a bit of a downer.
On tonight's TV menu: Friday Night Lights, followed by the recording of Bones (from 8pm), and then the return of Lost. A good very night of TV!

I recorded the second one but didn't watch it yet.. i just assumed it was a rerun.

So who is amped for the return of Lost? Do you think they can keep up the pace of the fall version of this season? Has anyone on the cast got a DUI or sextape released so i won't be as shocked or disheartened when they are killed off? Do you think Jack will kill Henry Gale?

I am not psyched about Lost. I feel like I've been on vacation, and now I have to go back to work. I will watch, because I enjoyed last season (though, I did not watch Season One), but I think I've been really JJaded by other Abramsfests. It already has that dragging along feeling to it, and while I'm hopeful for an improvement in the next 16 episodes, I'm not holding my breath.

And I don't understand the Christopher hatred - he's hot, he's smart, he's funny, he's Rory's dad, he's rich, and he doesn't wear flannel. What is not to swoon over?

I am pretty psyched for tonight but not nearly as psyched as I was for the Lost season premiere.

My predicition: if they don't answer at least one question on tonight's episode ratings will plummet and it will only get one more season.
