Where were the commercials?

90 million of us watched the Super Bowl last night. Tis but a pittance of the number of people who watch the World Cup final, but that only happens once every 4 years and this is America.

So, usually there are wonderful, hillarious, and brilliant ads on during the game. In fact many people tune in just to see these commercials.

(Commercials, for those of you with TiVo, or DVRs, are those short films that come on during regular programming that tell you it's ok to go to the bathroom, get another beer, and inform you about products and services that are available to you as a consumer. )

I noticed that there were no commercials that stood out last night.

Anybody care to counter that assertion? Anybody not as drunk as I was, remember any good ones?

Oh yeah and there was a game on.

Tonight is 24. Oh yeah!

I absolutely agree on the commercials...I can't believe so much money was spent to air such fogettable, normal stuff. I thought the Rock, Paper, Scissor Budweiser commercial was mildly entertaining as well as the second Career Builder.com when they were all fighting, but that was about it. And I'm sure I won't remember either of them in another few hours.

I think with the fact that there was some scoring and lots of slipping and sliding in the rain, I might have actually enjoyed the game more than the commercials (which is quite impressive for me).

Regardless, thank God tonight is wonderful Monday night TV! Yay 24 and Studio 60!

I am not too in to Pro football, especially if the Dolphins, Eagles or Redskins aren't playing. So when a game is on and I don't care about the teams, I fall back on college football.

The Bears had no less than 3 Gators on their team, and the Colts didn't have any. It wasn't too hard to choose where my loyalties would lie. But then Rex Grossman did exactaly what he did as a Gator... he sucked it up.

Congrats Colts fans, you got it done.

There was also one, possibly for bud light, where the couple picks up the ax weilding hitchiker because he had a 12 pack of BL. That was kind of humorous.

However, I will not be drinking bud light any time soon.

aah yes...the guy w/ the ax was decent. what did everyone think about the snickers bar commercial? i was a little surprised they actually had the guys kiss, but thought it was pretty funny when they started ripping off their chest hair.

Yeah, but when I think of 'do something manly' chest hair pulling does not come to mind. I was thinking maybe fix a car, fight, ride a bull, stare at some titties... there are a lot of things that are manlier than hair pulling.

that is very true...i expected them to be drinking beer, sitting around power tools and guns while burping, getting lap dances and watching football.

The Doritos contest winner was good.

This may have been the best ad last night, but I think it only ran locally... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8ybvWplJh4&eurl=

i concur with everything that has been said.

i would be very worried if chest hair removal was the first thing that i thought of when i needed to feel manly.

they should have impregnated some women.

So tonight on Heroes we get to meet the Cheerleaders human torch Mom and we'll get a glimpse of Dad (my bet is on flying congressman or the mysterious Mr. Linderman). We also get to spend some time with Hiro's Dad Mr. Sulu and we are supposed to meet his sister as well. Plus the Invisible Man begins tutoring Peter Petrelli on how to use his powers.

Sounds good.

On 24 Jack and Dad will probably get the Bauer torture treatment from evil bauer's minions and the president's sister's boyfriend will say some stuff in that weird accent of his.

On Studio 60 "Josh" is still stuck on the roof with the hot prego boss and is still trying to woo her which is getting on my nerves.

The rest of the cast is at the awards dinner thing and the Cinese guy's daughter is getting drunk on tequila, (and looking just as hot as an undergrad should). Oh and there is a snake somewhere in the studio.

I am so ready for Lost.

Lost starts this Wednesday.

By the way, The L Word is getting very good.

I liked the slapping one and the rock one; as well as the Budweiser dog one, but that's b/c I'm a sucker for puppies. The CareerBuilder one where the guy had the binder clips all over him made me think of nipple clamps, and most of the Coke ones weren't even new.

Watched the L Word when I got home. Lesbians are neat.

Tonight is Prison Break and Studio 60 por moi. Oh, and maybe Heroes if I make it home in time, and/or catch it at the gym.
