So glad that Peter and Claire didn't hook up...

Heroes was pretty damned entertaining last night.
Claire meets her mom.
Peter learns how to "remember" his borrowed powers.
Schizo hottie gets out of jail and the evil half is in control.
Sylar terrorizes clueless dog mom until she is saved by Mr. "No first name" Bennett and the Haitian mind eraser.
Hiro uses his powers of trickeration to convince Daddy Sulu to embrace women's rights and give his obviously over qualified sister the job saving the company instead of trusting it to his son who who thinks he will be fighting dinosaurs soon.
We learn (rather unsuprisingly) that if you combine one flying congressman and one combustible trailer dweller you get an indestructible cheerleader.

And the highlight of the night: Daddy Sulu's license plate number was NCC-1701.

24 was decent but very predictable, and Studio 60 continues to entertain.

What did you watch last night and what's on tap for tonight?

At around 9:50 last night, I was like, I can't believe I get so excited about this stupid show (24) every week. Have I been High every Monday for the past 2 years? Oh yeah, I have. This got me to thinking that it was the weed making me appreciate the action and suspense and intrigue. Having broken up with Mary Jane, I am noticing more flaws with 24 this season, what with it trying to be all soap opera-y and being all about family and relationships and blah, oh yean and a terrorist who has turned good. But then in the last 7 minutes of broadcast time, I am renewed in my appreciation for that show.

It was turbo exciting when the picture finally resolved and it was the CTU tech. It was shocking, but not too unexpected when Papa Bauer made Baby Bauer die, and it is ominous the way they are showing the Vigo the Carpethian guy and the Vice President; I'm thinking attempted coup.

So yeah, it's occasionally dumb, but 24 will remain my Monday night show, Yo.

I just found out that my favorite TV program will be airing on Saturday night... Gator Sports on TV. It's so rare in this area that I usually have to listen to the games on Yahoo radio. #1 UF will play #20 Kentucky in Basketball. I'll be sure to get myself to a place where ESPN actually comes in clearly.

Heroes was great last night...Prison Break was just ok. I watched CSI: Miami with the over-acting David Caruso...and I think they may have killed one of the better acting/better looking characters...I guess I'll find out next week.

What's the deal with the license plate in Heroes?

NCC-1701?

Come on...

Heroes was enjoyable last night...for some reason it's taking me much longer to get hooked than everyone else, but it may finally happen soon.

24 is definitely not the action-packed show it used to be, but I'll keep on watching hoping that once all Jack's family has been tortured and killed, the family drama will have to stop.

I definitely enjoyed Studio 60...I realized that I must really like the writing and the acting, though. Normally I wouldn't be able to even watch a show where 2 characters accidentally get stuck on the roof or there is a coyote trying to get a ferret trying to get a snake, but when it happened on this show, for the most part I found it quite humorous.

Also watched Prison Break...those episodes are all the same now, but I was a bit sad to see Haywire talked into committing suicide...

Did anyone watch How I Met Your Mother last night? The gang said a little prayer to their Tivo, which was awesome, and very similar to the little prayer I said yesterday afternoon before firing up my DVR to catch up on all the things I missed while I was away.
So, yesterday I watched A TON of TV, but most of it was recorded. Zoning out in front of the TV was the perfect jet-lag activity--it kept me from napping, but didn't require much brain activity.
I did, obviously, catch Your Mom last night, and also Heroes. And I totally knew Nathan was Claire's dad. I'm really, really relieved they didn't take Claire/Peter anywhere. Heroes is total escapist fun for me. I don't need incest mucking it up.

I saw the last 15 minutes of Prison Break, my first time watching since the pilot episode.
Needless to say I was a little confused. Is the guy who talked the other guy into suicide a good guy?

I also watch How I met Your Mother for the first time.
I was amused and I shall return.

Jo--the guy who talked Haywire into commiting suicide, FBI Agent Mahone, is not such a good guy...he had orders to eliminate Haywire and went with suicide when he realized there were lots of witnesses around.

I completely forgot to mention HIMYM (gosh I wish there was a good way to abbreviate that title...). I watched that as well and gg, I also enjoyed the prayer to TiVo. As silly as it was, I also laughed while Ted had on his ridiculous invention (can't seem to remember its name and my google skills are poor today) to prevent him from seeing or hearing anything about the game.

Thanks Mau for the Prison Break info.
I may check it out a few more times.

For the record NCC-1701 is the # that appears on the side of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek. The fact that they used it as Hiro's dad's license plate was very cool for trekkies and nerds like me.

I knew too, GG! And like mau, I'm not 100% hooked on this show yet, but having the HIV-positive, crazy nympho from Nip/Tuck be the cheerleader's mom (I never got around to watching last week) is definitely a step in the right direction.

I also watched PB... boring, except for when Sarah tried to kill Paul. She's a little mopey for my taste, so it was good to go after it like that.

I accidentally didn't dvr the Hills, so I'll be forced to catch it during one of the 8 million times it's replayed over the weekend.

Studio 60 dragged a little this week, but the end exchange between Jack and Zhang Tao was fantastic. Not that we didn't know that he understood all along, but that didn't make that scene any less awesome.

On Studio 60 I learned to dislike Harriet finally, and I hope she gets with her film director and becomes a movie star (on the show) so that she has to leave studio 60 (the show within the show) and we can get some new characters.

What's on tonight?

Well, Lady A... for me, it's CW night: Gilmore Girls followed by Veronica Mars. I have no idea what's on at 10.

Veronica Mars and two episodes of The Unit.

Idol might be on.

HT - glad to hear I'm not the only one having a slow time falling in love with Heroes.

Jo- I completely agree...let's get rid of Harriet...maybe Jack Bauer could take her out while he's on his way to find some more terrorists.

Tonight I'm planning on catching Gilmore Girls and in addition to that, House and I think the Unit as well...

I can't watch The Unit. It sounds like porn to me. I couldn't say to someone, "I really like The Unit," or hey, "Did you catch The Unit last night?"

No, no, no.

At 4:29 PM, Blogger Josephus said...

Tonight you can catch two units.

I'm going to go Unit-free tonight, and every night, thanks.
