Jealous Men and Recorded TV

So last night was mostly devoted to watching recorded TV from Monday (and drinking delicious sangria at a yummy spanish restaurant), but I did happen to catch Gilmore Girls. I had seen the previews for this episode last week, but I was really quite shocked at Christopher's crazy jealousy. I can understand that he wouldn't be thrilled with reading the letter (or the fact that Lorelai hid it from him), but didn't his reaction seem a little extreme?? Maybe it's because he's a guy and they don't usually have that kind of reaction on tv?? Or maybe it wasn't extreme and I'm just a mean, insensitive person??

Anyway, let's hear what you think if you caught this, how any recorded tv was if you were playing catch up or how any other new shows were!

Older or younger?

So do you think the guy who Jack Bauer was tor... ahem... interrogating last night was his younger brother, or his older brother, ... or I hadn't thought about this until just now, but his evil twin?

I don't think a younger brother would have the balls to do what Jack did, so Jack must be older. However, the brother figure has a very bald hairstyle, which leads you to believe that Jack is younger.

I just don't know.

What happened on Prison Break?

How was BSG?

What else was on and what do you think about it?

Animation Domination

Finally, they are back.

Your favorite family from Quohog, The Griffins.

After such a long break, "Family Guy" was happily welcomed back into my Sunday evening. Oh you irreverent scamps, how I've missed you guys. Coming with my foster family, back to Sunday nights, were new episodes of The Simpsons and American Dad (there was another show on between The Simpsons and Family Guy, but I won't mention it by name and thus justify its worthless existence). I, personally, was quite disappointed by the little yellow family and as always, American Dad was hit and miss.

So what did you think of this week's Sunday Animation? What other cartoons am I currently missing on TV that I should set the PVR up for? Does anyone know if Futurama is coming back for another season for sure?

Hug it out Bitch

Thursday is such a great TV day there has to be quite of things that you saw and want to discuss.

Like me for example, I have only this week begun to watch shows that are not in syndication. I watched My Name is Earl and 1.5 episodes of The Office.

All of that TV was great, but I know this community is way more advanded in their Thursday viewing than that.

What'd you see, What're you looking forward to this weekend?

Top Chef Shocker!

That is if you watch the show.
Cause if you do then there's no way you would have predicted the outcome of Finale Part 1 last night.
No there wasn't a kitchen shooting, but the two favorites (at least my two picks) to win were eliminated last night.
Top Chef is good television. If you aren't watching you should. And if you did watch, what do you think?

Besides that the missus and I are 4 for 4 this season with American Idol (new record).
There will be a grand celebration when we abandon the rest of America and escape it's clutches.

This season of Real World has had some decent moments but the sprained ankle girl made me turn it off last night.

Was anything else on?

Tonight my DVR will be tuned to Smallville (Starring Mid-Michigan's own Tommy Welling), then there's a new documentary called "Friends of God: A Road Trip" on HBO by Speaker Pelosi's daughter that we'll be watching (or at least dvr-ing). Then we have the Road Rules/Real World Challenge reunion show set to tape (I may take that one off).

The Thursday NBC shows are all reruns so I will try to watch some stuff backlogged on DVR,
perhaps some episodes of Dirt?

What will you be watching tonight?

Madame Speaker, Dikembe & Baby Einsteins

Those are three things you missed if you didn't tune in for President Bush's 7th State of the Union last night.

On Veronica Mars we were treated to a Monkey hunt.

On Dirt, for the few minutes I tuned in I saw a pregnant ghost having sex with a schizophrenic.

And on Bad Girls Club we learned that even bad girls have feelings.

What did you watch last night and what's on tap for tonight?

Jack Bauer is not his brother's keeper; State of the Union (SOTU)

Wow. Plenty to discuss.
On 24 we see that the Bauer Family is really effed up.

On Heroes we meet The Invisible Man and learn a little about the history of one of the weird insignias.

Studio 60 is back and I am realizing that my favorite characters on the show aren't the leads. I like the corporate heads and the 2nd banana writers alot more than Chandler and Josh (I mean Danny Tripp and the other guy, I'm not sure which is which but the Josh character really wants a Stalker nickname).

What else was on last night?

As for tonight the President's big SOTU will be wiping out most networks so the only shows my dvr will be taping are Veronica Mars and The Bad Girl's Club (it's on the Oxygen network and it's great television).

So uh...talk away...

Oh yeah and I guess Oscar nominations came out...

Monday Night

Last night was a tough one for me. I have my dvr programmed to tape, Rome, The Apprentice, Extras, Iron Chef America, The L Word and Battlestar Galactica. Well with the NFL playoffs running till after 10:00 pm my whole world was in upheaval. I decided to X out Rome and Extras in favor of watching them on OnDemand at a later time. I ended up watching the end of the excellent Colts-Pats game and then settling in for the last half hour of The Apprentice (a contestant quit) then the mid season return of Battlestar Galactica (Xena has been disconnected) and The L Word (I sense some Boys Don't Cry action is on the horizon).

Tonight we have the return of Heroes on NBC and the first normal length episode of 24.

What will you be watching tonight?

Here we go!

As you can see the TV Lunch blog is pretty bare, that's because I have no idea what, if anything, this will become. For now let's say that the mission of the TV Lunch blog is to talk about what we like, don't like, watch, don't watch and what we think everyone should be watching, or not watching on the boob tube.

Again I have no idea if this thing will survive the week or even the day so don't worry about any rules or codes of conduct yet. Let's just talk TV.
