All Hail The King & Queen!
Helen Mirren and Forrest Whittaker took home the big prizes at the Oscars last night, and Martin Scorcese finally got his due.
Did you watch the big (long) award show?
Were you as smart as me and recognize that the long Celine Dion song was adapted from the score for "Once Upon A Time in America"?
Was Robert Downey Jr.'s self deprecating joke the highlight of the night?
Were you forced to watch the entire show and miss The L Word and Battlestar Galactica like me?
Share with us your reflections on the night.
And how excited are you for tonight's Heroes (my pantaloons are moist already...)?

I think I am more excited about The Black Donnellys than I am about Heroes.
after returning from two weeks away, all i did was watch stuff that had been pvr'd... now i will read the last couple weeks of posts and me too the shit out of it
i did not watch any of the oscars as i too was watching lots of saved up recorded tv with m. i had already seen the office during my brave non-recorded tv adventure, but i could watch dwight stalk vampire bats over and over again.
i'm looking forward to how i met your mother tonight as well as heroes (it continues to slowly grow on me), but i'm not sold on the black donnellys...i think it might just be due to all the commercials i saw while watching 2 weeks of stored up tv (and by 'saw' i mean skipped through, but that's a lot of work and once and awhile a whole commercial slips in when you're not paying attention!)
I hate awards shows. They bore the hell out of me, plus I don't care who wins the Tony for gayest singer on Broadway, Grammy for least creative mass produced teeny bopper of the year, Oscar for movie that nobody saw, but was really artsy, or Woddy for best Triple penetration scene... well I have a passing interest in the Woodys.
Didn't watch much TV this weekend because the Leutentant bought an x box 360.
Might miss 24 tonight due to a roommate's birthday feast at Todai. Perhaps I'll get the lady to DVR it for me, or maybe I can part with the $1.98 to grab it off of iTunes.
Jo--must you mention your pantaloons? I half-heartedly watched the Oscars, then gave up at about 10:15.
I can't decide whether I'm excited or not about the Black Donnellys. Heroes and FNL are two of the only shows that I actually watch in real-time, so I've seen lots and lots of commercials for it. At first, the commercials made me excited. Now, not so much. I probably will at least DVR it and give it a whirl.
