There's a New Sheriff in Town!

Did you see Veronica Mars last night? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I feel calmer now but, Holy @#*&! Spoiler warning: Sheriff Lamb is dead. And at the hands of Richard Grieco! Now, the deceased is not my favorite fictional person, but he did bring a lot to the show--especially in the area of verbal sparring with our two favorite members of the Mars family. But thank goodness it wasn't Keith.
Today, I'm working from home, so I will likely have a true "TV Lunch" during my lunch break. Any suggestions for daytime viewing?
Tonight, of course, it's all about Friday Night Lights and Lost. Hopefully, no one will die. After Heroes and Veronica Mars, I've think I've had enough fictional death for one week. What's on tap for the rest of you?

I watched Idol in our "den" while Veronica and The Unit taped.

And even though a text maessage from HT almost ruined the big ending, I still thoroughly enjoyed V. Mars. Great episode. Kudos.

"I smell bread..." Great last words.

After Veronica we watched Bad Girls Club and Zara continues to shine as the most annoying living human. Truly, I can't think of anyone who is worse.

Idol and Lost tonight. Plus I'll watch my taped episode of The Unit.

OH, and based on the Idol preformances by th emen last night, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that this year's winner will be a woman. I reserve the right to amend my predicition after tonight.

I sort of half-watched American Idol. My mom spent the night, so I was unable to indulge my Bad Girls addiction. I will try to catch that tonight, though! Poor Zara. Having not seen last night's episode I'm going to say she's just young & stupid. Of all the guys I saw (which, seriously, was like 3), I liked the 2nd to last guy best. He was hott. But we'll see if he brings it. Tonight I will try to watch both FNL & AI & will definitely watch Lost. I'll have to watch Bad Girls before primetime.

My mom & I always watched a couple of shows on HGTV. They have this one that is so depressing! It's called 'Buy Me' & it's supposed to be a show about the selling process showing more of the ups & downs of selling a house. Last night this woman was 'on the edge financially' & they kept saying she needed to sell now etc. & it took 6 months to sell it. But it was depressing. I was just glad she was able to sell. The first one of these that I saw (last Nov or Dec) it was this couple (late 40s-early 50s) who were getting divorced & the husband had moved out & 1 or 2 of the kids had moved into his apt with him & weren't talking to the mother, and another 1 or 2 kids were staying with her in the house, but she had to sell it b/c she couldn't afford it anymore & she wouldn't compromise on the price, even though the foundation of the house was cracked & the house was a mess & cluttered & she kept blaming the realtor & yelling at him & crying & the realtor got fed up with her, etc etc etc. And the show ended without her selling it. It was really depressing. I don't like that show. Househunters is much better (and we saw one of those last night, too). This one had a couple moving from Tennessee to Baltimore (county, not city). Good stuff.

Yeah, sorry about that Jo - I assumed you were watching in real time; I forgot about your Idol fixation. I was just so excited I could not contain myself.

I missed Gilmore Girls and Bad Girls Club though; I need to a) make sure my dvr recorded them, as it was behaving badly last night and b) catch up.

However, I watched Dirt. Seriously people - I'm begging you - watch this show. It's weird and awesome and Courtney Cox is so great playing evil. And her schizo best friend is so weird and creepy and sweet. I am literally delighted with every episode. I have a "HOLY CRAP DID THEY JUST SAY/DO THAT" moment each and every week.

Watch Dirt. That is all.

I got home and ran 3 miles, then swam 2 miles then all I caught was a great South Park that I had never seen before. Or rather I caught the climax. It involved remaking Raiders of the Lost Arc and was just brilliant. then I watched Dave Chapelle's Killing them Softly. Not bad. It was filmed in Cap City, right down in the Lincolin Theater. That makes you feel good when a pro comes home.

I got no TV agenda tonight. But I am getting together with Lil' Miss Sunshine tomorrow to watch Gray's, but I missed last week. What the hell happened? that one chick flatlined? What up with that? how did it happen? What else did I miss.

Oh yeah and Men in Trees tomorrow night. I've decided to like that show and to hell with anybody who doesn't, or who think's I'm gay for watching it. If liking Justine Baitman makes me gay, then book me on a cruise from Key West to San Fran, baby.

No problem HT, the only part I picked up on was Keith Mars' new job.

GG, for TV lunching I reccomend some good old soap opera watching. It amazes me how much I can get caught up with a soap when watching it once every 9 months or so.

GH and Days are the only ones worth watching in my opinion.

Grey's last week included meredith drowning (hopefully dying but probably not), alex is becoming all sentimental to some prego chick who got her face smashed in the ferry accident, Izzie drilled holes in some guys head using a Makita drill and professed her belief to George that she thought he made a mistake marrying Callie and Yang was sarcastic. Denny and FNL coach actor guy who blew up on last season's Grey's showed up at the end of the show in the 'meredith may be dead scene'.

I've read that they are trying to do a spin off show featuring Addison..not sure what the premise (besides medical) will be...any thoughts, opinions?

I got hungry too early for my soaps (As the World Turns and Guiding Light--I'm old-school), so I'm watching My Super Sweet Sixteen instead. I havent' seen it in while and I'd forgotten how ridiculous these girls are. I thought it was fun before, but now I'm starting to get mad at the mini-brats.

Helio, I am ashamed for you re: Men in Trees. You can like Justine Bateman all you want (hey, greatness runs in the family (see: Arrested Development)), but do you like Anne Heche? She's just so cold & seems cruel somehow. And you should try to watch last week's Grey's online.

To expand on Lady A's assessment: Izzie was an asshole about George's marriage (seriously - say it once & then suck it up, don't keep saying it over & over again - we get it, you hate Callie. Twat.) & that Prego chick looks like Gary Oldman in 'Hannibal'. For reals, did you see that movie? Freaky!! I am predicting it here now - that chick is going to wind up being someone Alex knows. I'm probably wrong b/c I can't think of anyone where it would be like "oh, dude, that's his {ex-girlfriend, one-night-stand, sister, whatever} & everyone else is accounted for. Eh, whatever.

Are they really talking about spin-off with Addison? Wasn't there a show about fertility doctors this fall that lasted like 1 show? Maybe they figure that niche hasn't been filled so she'll do that. Hmmmm. I don't know. I like Addison & all, but what would they do that was different?

Shit!!!

I just got Flowers delivered to me at the office.

That confirms it. Liking Men in Trees makes you Gay.

Twat! ??
That's great Turtle. i almost forgot that word existed.

You guys are all so helpful in the tv world. Thanks for the summary of last week's Gray. Sounds like I missed a good one.

and I just saw the Arrested Development where Justine played a hooker. Brilliant!

Who are the flowers from??? You are gay...

At 1:34 PM, Blogger Heliocentric said...

The flowers are from this guy I met in the pool last night. He said I had a nice stroke.

At 1:40 PM, Blogger Heliocentric said...

I mean locker room, not pool. What was I thinking?

At 1:44 PM, Blogger Heliocentric said...

I kid, I kid.

The flowers are from the temp agency. They sent them to congratulate me on getting a real job. It's a little cluster of colored flowers in a Help Unlimited mug. So once they die, I'll have a place to put my coffee.

For the record, I did not sniff the flowers, nor do I know what they are... because I'm not gay.

Aw, Helio! That's so sweet! My office has never sent me flowers. This chick in my office hit her 5 year anniversary a couple of years ago & they sent her flowers. I hit my ten year the same year & I got bupkiss. (hm, how's that spelled?) I didn't get jack-shit for my 5 year anniversary either. Oh, I got an extra week of vacation, which they begin giving everyone who started working there the following year. I figure they owe me 5 weeks of vacation. No, I'm not dissatisfied in my job, why do you ask?

Helio, I think 'twat' is one of the most underused words in the english language. And I hope it stays that way, b/c hasn't 'bitch' lost a lot of its sting??

Tonight on Lost we get to see some of the other plane crash survivors who were "taken" by the Others. Do you think they will give us some answers?

Finally finished season 2 of Lost...HT is very happy about that too I think... ;)

Now I need to decide if I should watch the second part of season 3, or wait until it all comes out on DVD.

At 3:24 PM, Blogger Josephus said...

watch.

At 3:27 PM, Blogger Lady A said...

I missed the first half of season 3 though.

At 3:49 PM, Blogger Josephus said...

read the recaps on TWOP. You've only missed like 6 episodes.

At 3:59 PM, Blogger HaterTot said...

Lady A - I am very firmly with Jo on this one. You can also probably find the recap of the first 6 eps online somewhere, so that's only an hour, as opposed to 6.

And, I like how Lady A neglects to mention the funniest tv-related thing that's happened to her recently.

She is watching WAY too much Lost. That is all I will say. WAY too much.

At 4:12 PM, Blogger LizTurtle said...

Lady A, you can watch all 8 (9? whatever) episodes from this season at abc.com. You just need a solid afternoon & you will be all caught up.

Then read the recap at TWOP. That's funny shit.

Jo, didn't you see the commercials? They're going to give us the answer to three big questions!! I predict the 3 questions answered will be: How does Juliet keep up with her hair-coloring, 'cuz girlfriend got no roots & no woman her age is that blonde naturally? Is Charlie a psychotic stalker who is developing a disturbing attachment to Clare, who is way too hot for him? Will Kate & Sawyer break up after a lot of 'blah blah blah freckles' from Sawyer & a lot of 'Jack! Jack! Jaaaaaaack! (sob)' from Kate?

At 4:31 PM, Blogger Josephus said...

3 questions I want answered tonight on Lost:

3. Who was that man with the eyepatch?

2. Who is Jacob?

1. What does Kate look like topless?
