blue monday

The only thing scheduled for my pvr last night was 24 and that show is really losing my interest. I did really enjoy seeing the expresident’s ex-wife stab him though.
Mau and I were discussing the rumor that this is keiffer’s last season and they are setting up for the “new jack bauer.” I hope it’s not that blonde asshole that looks like a former child star…
Other than that, we caught the Pilot of “The Riches.” It seemed okay… we’ll have to see how it matures and if it can keep it’s plot under control. I can see it easily spiraling crazily until everyone is being investigated by the FBI/married off to genetic misfits and somehow practicing corporate law without any schooling…
That did kinda make me wanna become a gypsy though.

24 continues to just barely make it through the hour. Good riddance to President Logan and his murderous missus. Ricky Schroeder is in as the new hardass Curtis but I haven't heard any rumors that he is being groomedto succed Jack, in fact I think I am preety sure Kiefer is signed to star and exec produce the show for at least another 3 seasons.

I emjoyed "The Riches" but it seemed very "Big Love" to me. Secret society of folks trying to live a lie of normal life. I plan to give it a shot.

American gypsies or "Irish Travellers" are fascinating to me.

I have to jump on the bandwagon with all y'all. I find I'm watching 24 out of respect for all the Monday's I've dedicated to it in the past few years, but, and this has been said a number of times here by me, it's a little soap opera-y this season. Lots' of bauer family drama, which is now apparently taken care of since we haven't heard anything from Dad, nephew, or ex pin cushion sister in law in several weeks. I guess that story line's place was taken by the Logan's family drama. My roomie totally called the stabbing as they telegraphed the knife several times before she did it. At any rate, I'll continue to watch every Monday and I'll iTunes the ones I miss.

The thing I didn't get was the final assault on the consulate. What was the deal with the Russian President saying that he was going to authorize the use of force in the removal of the consulate? Was he authorizing the troops at the consulate to do something, if so, wasn't it bad form for Ricky Schroder to go and shoot them all? Or was it that he was authorizing CTU to use force? He can't do that. He's not the president of America. I didn't get the political nuances there. If you did, please enlighten me.

I didn't watch much else, but I did finish shooting all the Mexicans in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on the Xbox 360. It was awesome. Good game play and graphics, compelling story, thanks Tom; and it was easy enough to be fun, but hard enough to be a challenge. I also like that I did get all the way through it. I think I've been gaming for about 20 years and that is only like the 4th game I've ever finished. Halo, Vice City and Predator on the commadore 64 were the others.

Shooting Mexicans is the most fun you can legally have.

I did not wind up watching anything last night - I got sloppy instead, as detailed on OWFL. I can't wait to watch 24 though! Good stuff! Logan getting shivved? Love it!

Also looking forward to the Riches pilot.

I think tonight is Pussycat Dolls. I think Wednesdays are Top Model. May or may not be watching any tv tonight b/c I think I'm going to go see Last King of Scotland (if anyone's interested, let me know . . . ). Except that I left my phone at home & don't have my friend's cell # here at work & it's his day off, so I can't really use his work number. What to do, what to do.

I watched the Riches, and will catch up on the Black Donnelly's later in the week. I agree with the Big Love feeling.

My good friend - some of you met her - in Dublin does a lot of work with travelers' rights in Ireland and in Hungary, I knew a lot of folks on the Roma rights bandwagon. It's interesting, to be sure. I've read a lot about the Roma (side note: when my mother was young, and she got angry at the Uncles, she'd yell, "You're nothing but a bunch of gypsies," causing them to stop speaking to her for weeks at a time - it's quite the insult among my people), but these types are a fun new twist.

They seem to have thrown a lot of pasta on the wall, so to speak, and are looking to see what sticks. I hope too that they focus up a bit.

Tonight is CW night, I think, though I'm not sure GG is new, and/or if VM is on. And then, DIRT!!

Pussycats are tonight.
No Veronica Mars.

On 24 the Russian President gave CTU authorization to attack the embassy without reprisal. Since an attack on the embassy is an attack on the Russian government. I'm not sure if the Russian President realized that he was sentencing about 40 of his countrymen to death, but the guy seems a little weird as it is, since we can assume his wife convinced him to allow it to happen based on the word of an handcuffed institutionalized woman who had just stabbed someone to death.

Dude, attacking an embassy is attacking another country. WTF?? I don't think the 24-verse has any resemblance to the real world.

it's too bad there was only one person (markov) he could call in the consulate to tell to surrender. you would think there would be another general or something he could talk to about not getting killed by americans...

Markov is the only one whose number he had.

And there was really no time for him to find the consulate directory.

Plus he was roaming...
