Bulls**t

Last night, the only tv I saw was the new Penn & Teller's Bullshit on Showtime. I learned that WalMart is not an evil monolithic corporation. Whatcha say to that, Jo? Damn unions.

This weekend, I am looking forward to 'the Tudors', also on Sho. I didn't cancel my Showtime, so now I'm paying for it (3 months free was up a few weeks ago), so I figured I should actually start watching it.

WFTVL today/tonight/this weekend?

Guest stars get killed...

Interesting episode of Lost last night. I was entertained.
On Top Model one of the plus sized girls was given the boot.
On Idol the witty, curly haired self proclaimed pudgy guy was voted off.

Casualties all around.

What did you watch?

Bye, bye, Siseley, we hardly knew ye

Now she must face the shame her punk friends are sure to heap on her after getting booted third from the PCD.

Do you think the other girls will eventually warm up to the new girls on the Bad Girls Club? And is Zara being manipulative intentionally or not? She's such a hanger-on. She's all "Oh, nobody will move beds with you," and then to everyone else she's all "They asked me to move beds & I was like 'No'." Trying to act all tough! Phony!! I think Zara may bug worse than Aimee. God, every week I hate that twat (Aimee that is) more & more. At least Zara's mostly just young & stupid.

And what is with Sanjaya's hair? Holy crap. This is a must see for all you Sanjaya lovers or haters out there.

jack sinks to new lows

who thought jack was going to torture brady, the retarded brother? i sure did. and how do you feel about the president going from a chemical induced coma (from which waking him may be fatal due to cerebral swelling) to active duty within seconds? what about that unwanted sexual advance by milo in the work place... does anyone else think lawsuit?
There was also prison break on last night.. dragging me through yet another episode of a series that should just be cancelled... i shouldn't talk of what upsets me so..

Just When I Think I'm Out . . .

After Jo, the media, the big ol' dorks I work with, and some others convinced me, I began watching Battlestar Galactica. I was in the habit of taping it--first because it was on Friday nights, and then because it was just too exciting for the last thing at night before going to bed on a Sunday night. So I'd eagerly anticipate watching on either Saturday morning (like cartoons for grown-ups!) or Monday evening (the perfect lead-in to Heroes!). Then something happened the last few weeks--it got dull. So very, very dull. I stopped watching the recording on Monday, instead letting it sit around the DVR until I got to it. I was ready to throw in the towel, but thought I'd watch the season finale because I wasn't tired and there was no new Brothers and Sisters. Holy frakkin' finale! [don't read this if you record like I usually do] They revealed 4 of the final 5 Cylons! They're people we know and love! (and Tori). Starbuck's . . . alive?!? [okay, all done] Now I'm gonna have to watch when it returns in 2008.
I also watched Bring It On All Or Nothing on ABC Family. It was not the cheesy good time I expect of ABC Family (although I don't think it was an ABC Family original, so it wasn't their fault). The cheerleader from Heroes played a cheerleader. The actress used to be Lizzy Spaulding on Guiding Light. The current Lizzy Spaulding played her cheerleading rival, which gave me at least 30 seconds of amusment.
What did everyone else watch this weekend?

Bitches Night!

Bitches, bitches, and more bitches! I caught up on a lot of tv last night. I watched ANTM & PCD on dvr, and Ugly Betty, Grey's, and Scrubs. Bitch #1: Renee on ANTM! What a twat! And how awesome when she was trying to be nice, but you could tell it was really really hard for her! Bitch #2: All the PCDs! Skanks! Someone please stand up & out as a megabitch! Bitch #3: Mark on Ugly Betty for telling his mom Amanda has drug & sex addictions! God, I love the 2 of them, though. I almost cried when he told his mom to "look at your swishy son". Seriously - that was a tough scene to pull off without going overboard into flamboyance or maudlinishness & he pulled it off perfectly. I loved Mark a little last night! Bitch #4: Amanda for being all mean & like "Here's his new girlfriend!" B/c wow! Mean! Bitch #5: All the skanky hos & man-hos on Grey's! Bitch #6: Jordan for not being her spectacularly bitchy normal self, thus almost making me cry again! Here's to the bitches!

natural disasters

so last night i am sitting impatiently on the futon, waiting for mau to get back from the kitchen with the night's dinner. grrr mau, hurry. i hungy.
so in my impatience i repeatedly hit play, pause, play, rewind, fastforward, play, rewind, pause, pause, fastforward (my own version of the konami code) on the pvr.
guess what happend?
well apparently microsoft found this code offensive and bsod'd me.
oh well.. i only lost about 2 minutes of "your mother" (like the last two minutes) and a coupe minutes of prison break while the computer reset.
dumpdadumpda.
what?
WHAT?
where is my recorded tv?
gone?
GONE?
yeah. so um.. what happend in either of those shows?
and in my rage fell asleep during the last ten minutes of 24.
and, as always, wftvt?

Post Road Trip Relaxin'

Well I know many of us were away this weekend drinking our hearts out and not watching much tv. What's better the day after such a weekend then coming home from a tough day at work to your wonderful tv that missed you so much? I just checked out tvguide.com and was happy to see tonight they'll be new episodes of How I Met Your Mother (yay!!), Prison Break and 24. I think I should leave work soon to get myself settled on the futon...

What will you be watching tonight??

Officer & Gentlemen?

So I watched horrible horrible basketball then switched over & watched my dvr of the Office, even though I've seen both of these episodes before. One comment: isn't the muzak playing at the Staples when Michael comes to offer Dwight his job back the music playing at the end of an Officer & a Gentleman when Richard Gere comes & sweeps Debra Winger off her feet, etc? I'm pretty sure it's the same.

Idol/Pussy Tuesdays

The first night of the Idol Final 12 shows aired. Diana Ross was the special guest and theme. The guys continued to underwhelm, and among the girls there is a clear #1 in my mind (Melinda).
The missus and I have seen at least a part of every episode this season and are determined to to continue our travels with America this year. But no voting.

Meanwhile on the CW network, The Next Pussycat Doll has quickly become a very good show. If the format stays the same and the contestants have to prefom a song and dance routine each episode than it will stay in our dvr rotation for the long haul.

Leslie has left the building on Bad Girl's Club.

I also watched a dvr'd Inside The Actor's Studio with Chris Rock last night. It made me think back to how huge "Bring the Pain" was when it first aired on HBO. Every single human I knew saw it and was talking about it. He's got amn amazing brain. He aslso said what I thought was the funniest thing I had ever heard on a late night talk show when he went on Conan O'Brian and talked about the different crowd reactions that Michael Moore and Roman Polanski (in absentia) received at ths Oscars a few years back. "They boo Michael Moore, but give the rapist a standing ovation? I don't get that. I thought rape was bad? I mean, we want to kill Saddam Hussein, but we don't want to rape him! That'd be horrible!"

Priceless.

What did you watch last night?
Ready for Lost tonight?

blue monday

The only thing scheduled for my pvr last night was 24 and that show is really losing my interest. I did really enjoy seeing the expresident’s ex-wife stab him though.
Mau and I were discussing the rumor that this is keiffer’s last season and they are setting up for the “new jack bauer.” I hope it’s not that blonde asshole that looks like a former child star…
Other than that, we caught the Pilot of “The Riches.” It seemed okay… we’ll have to see how it matures and if it can keep it’s plot under control. I can see it easily spiraling crazily until everyone is being investigated by the FBI/married off to genetic misfits and somehow practicing corporate law without any schooling…
That did kinda make me wanna become a gypsy though.

Gearing up for the Madness

The excitement of NCAA March Madness is almost upon us. The time of year when everyone's office engages in illegal gambling and we adjust our television watching habits to find out if our sleeper pick beat Duke (never happens).

For me it's the very happy time of year that lets me know we are just a few short weeks away from baseball, which also throws a big monkey wrench into my set tv watching rotation.

Anyway, the weekend had a few tv gems: last night the missus and I caught a very funny Family Guy (Bill Clinton can talk the panties off anyone) we also watched a bit of a special about the Jonestown suicides on the History Channel. Crazy stuff, and it made me think about The Others on Lost. There was typical fare on The Apprentice, with the statistically most talented guy getting kicked off because he was annoying. The L Word was pretty damned good. There is unrest on Lesbian Land. You really should watch that show...

I taped BSG (battlestar Galactica) to watch tonight since Heroes is on hiatus. We also taped a Ted Koppel special abot the Global War on Terror that aired on Discovery Channel. And we taped Al Gore's movie so we can watch it one night when we can't fall asleep (I'm kidding...a little).

What did you catch on the tube this weekend? Are you going to miss Heroes as much as I will tonight? And which team will play Cinderella in this year's tournament?

Dr. Spaceman

I didn't catch the first 30 Rock, but the late night one was totally hillarious.

Tracey, who's your doctor?

Dr. Spaceman. Dr. Spaceman, Dr. Spaceman.

Jees, that cracked my shit up.

There's heaps of good TV on Thursday night, what did you see? What happened?

I missed Grays and might have to hold my own in a conversation with my grilfriend today at Happy Hour. Please give a detailed summary for me.

Anybody watching basketball tonight? Gators play, Irish play, State Plays... It's madness.

a night without TV is not the night for me

oh my god.
did you see what happened on Lost last night?
shit.
i didn't. So tell me what i should be excited for when i return home to the warm glowing warming glow of my sweet tv. and beyond that...
what do you do when the shows you care about take a short break.. say, until the end of april or so? do you start watching whatever tripe they try and push on you on the interim (such as the guy from firefly's new show)? or do you stoically wait, frown set and arms akimbo, for the return of your tried and true programming?

poop.

Strong start, backing off from there

TV lunch began quite ambitiously, but has slowed from there. I know that Ihaven't seen much TV lately, and I am certain that I haven't visited in a week or two. I know however that this comunity does shape my viewing and I will continue to support it evermore.

So what have I missed? What's new this week? What are you high on and what blows? (that is to say wha do you like lately and what is no good, not a question about your chemical dependency)

24 Hours of Torture

Man, 24 is starting to bug. They don't even make a pretense of having moral qualms about torture or about basically invading another country against all protocols & international laws. Seriously, man. WTF. Maybe Keifer wants to travel some more. And was it just me, or did Markov (the russian guy) look like Reagan? Like he totally could have played him in a movie. Hm, they don't have the entire cast listed for that on imdb, so I need your help - what's the guy's name? And holy crap, I saw the name Powers Boothe in the credits & I was like "Where do I know that name from?" assuming once I saw him on screen I would go "Ah, that guy" but I didn't so while I was on imdb, I looked him up & holy crap, it can't be Curly Bill from Tombstone can it?? Woah!! Seriously. Two different guys.

VP Noah Daniels on 24 this season

Curley Bill Brocious from Tombstone circa 1993

Anyhoo, what did you all think of 24? I'm also a little surprised they didn't actually kill off Wayne Palmer. I guess the question is: will he make a surprise recovery & be back in office in the next 4-5 episodes? Or will he just sort of go away & maybe get a "Oh, the president died" in a few hours? Remember how the pres's plane went down 2 or 3 seasons ago & I don't think he died, but he just kind of vanished? Maybe I'm forgetting, but I'm pretty sure that Logan was sworn in b/c the president was incapacitated, not because he died. And then they just never mentioned him again. And is Logan actually creepier with the beard or not? I can't decide.

Jesus' Tomb?

I haven't watched it yet, but we taped The Discovery channel special about the supposed Jesus Family Tomb last night. Did anyone see it.
The weekend was fairly quiet for tv watching.
Last night we watched Iron Chef America which for the first time included mixologists in the fun, Mario Batali & his drinkmeister kicked the other team's ass.
We also watched some of The Apprentice which continues to underwhelm.

After the missus went to bed I watched The L Word which strangely only has 3 episodes left this season.

I ended the night watching the first hour of The Comedians of Comedy, which I have seen several times but always cracks me up, (a highlight is when Zach Galifianakis does his impression of "the guy who talks too much about the Garfield movie").

On Heroes tonight we get to meet Mr. Linderman which should be awesome.
And we get to see if President little brother Palmer got blown up on 24.

What will you be watching?

Repeats and the Source Awards

Last night I was quite disappointed to return from the bar and find that Earl and the Office were repeats and Scrubs was mainly a flashback episode. I wanted to drunkenly laugh my ass off! How dare NBC take that away from me! 30 Rock was still funny so luckily that distracted me from my anger.

What did you catch last night? Any special TV plans for the weekend or do you have a city nearby that will be entertaining you with early St. Patrick's Day festivities? (Yay for Hoboken!)

Lost filler...Models from Brooklyn...Bye Bye Blowjob Queen...

Lost was...well, it was last night.
Fluffy filler till we get back into things next week (I can't wait for eyepatch man).

The next top models are back and I am underwhelmed.
But interestingly they let the girl with the most personality go first, probablly because she also seemed to be, amazingly, the girl with the lowest IQ, which is saying alot on that show.

On Idol, the same girls continue to shine and the blowjob queen (alledged) Antonella Barba looks like she is going to walk the plank tonight, unless Hustler Magazine has organized a voting drive for her, which would be awesome.

What did YOU watch last night?

And what's on tap for tonight?
